MASSAGE SERVICES
Swedish Massage: This form of massage is comprised mostly of long gliding "effleurage" strokes, friction and kneading of the soft tissue to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension, and release toxins from the body. Some cases this therapy can help: insomnia, stress, anxiety, headaches, and aches from chemotherapy.
Neuromuscular Therapy Massage: The goal of this massage is to determine the underlying cause of your pain so that we can treat your specific issue. This involves locating and treating trigger points which refer pain to other parts of the body and cause muscle weakness and restrict your range of motion. "Neuro massage" can help with automobile accidents, carpal tunnel, scoliosis, whiplash, frozen shoulder, hip pain and sciatica, plantar fasciitis, headaches, and tennis elbow.
Prenatal Massage: Studies indicate massage performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, improve mood, relieve muscle aches and joint pain and improve labor outcomes. Helps build a bond between mother and child after birth, and decreases chances of postpartum depression.
Lymphatic Massage: This modality is used to direct lymph flow through the body to remove harmful toxins from the soft tissue by using very light pressure to stimulate the lymphatic system. Benefits include increase in immune function and a boost in energy as well as aiding in immune recovery of chemotherapy patients and Lymphodema.
Hot Stone Massage: Hot stone massage is a type of treatment that uses smooth warmed stones to relax muscles and induce a calm state of mind, improve energy flow and circulation throughout the body. Hot Stone Massage can ease anxiety and arthritis as well as increase toxin release and immune function.
Myofascial Release Massage: This form of treatment stretches and loosens the most superficial layer of soft tissue. This massage is a beneficial treatment for neck pain, back pain, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, Parkinson's, restriction of motion, chronic pain, headaches, and many other conditions.
Deep Tissue Massage: Often confused with a firm pressure during other forms of massage, the true purpose of deep tissue therapy is to effect the deepest layer of musculature and connective tissue. This therapy is very slow paced, using deep strokes across the muscle grain. This massage reduces deep muscle soreness and helps alleviate swelling-related pain from arthritis and tendonitis.
Sports Massage: Sports massage is designed to enhance athletic performance and recovery with pre-event, on-site at event, and post-event. Benefits include draining away fatigue, relieving swelling, preventing injury, and reducing tension. This pre-event treatment will prepare an athlete's body to perform as it's highest level, on-site therapy will energize the muscles and give the athlete an edge, and post-event massage will increase circulation and flexibility.
